What if you’ve already bought the app?  Good question.  We will give you a free copy of a2b in liu of paying for Key Ring.  Think of it as buy one get one free.  All you have to do is download the “a2b trial” in the android marketplace and email your “fid” to info@froogloid.com along with name the user that purchased Key Ring.  We’ll then unlock your version of a2b giving you unlimited access to the app!  Pretty sweet deal considering a2b costs $2.99 and Key Ring was only $1.99.  You can find your “fid” (Froogloid ID) listed at the bottom of the pop-up that displays the number of uses you have remaining.

+  I love the size! Finally I don’t have to haul around my giant G1 anymore!  It’s just a tad bigger than my Blackberry pearl.   

+ The camera takes great pics (in terms of camera phones…)!  Here’s a couple pics I’ve taken.

+  Not having a physical keyboard takes getting used too… but I’m finally figuring it out.  I will say this though, I’m a heck of a lot faster typing with my G1 than I am with the MyTouch.   I think the Samsung Bigfoot is going to be a big hit with it’s physical keyboard and relatively small design.  I think Motorola has a few full keyboard phones that will be big hits as well.

+  Cons ~ still no 3.5 mm jack. Uhg.  I have a 4gb SD card installed with lots of great tunes on it but if I want to hook it up to aux input in my truck I have to used the mini USB adaptor. 

In conclusion, if you want an android phone but are looking for something smaller than the G1, I highly recommend the HTC MyTouch 3G.  Great phone at a great price with all the outstanding android features (GPS, internet, accelerometer, frequent firmware updates, phennominal apps {a2b, Key Ring just to name a couple :) } ) If you have any questions, post em up!  Also, if you have the MyTouch, what are your thoughts?

Luke’s experiences are very much like my own.  You’re checking out at store, the clerk asks for your savings card, you whip out your phone and the clerk gives you a puzzled look.  They cautiously accept your gesture to scan your club card from your phone, then bam!  It scans and their puzzled look transitions into aw-struct amazement… haha  Usually the next comment is, what kind of phone is that?  Can my phone do that?!

Key Ring is live and for sale in the android marketplace for $1.99.  We launched Key Ring Sunday evening and started receiving downloads immediately!  In first 36 hours Key Ring has already become the most popular paid shopping app!  Crazy huh?!  It’s obvious that people are excited about the product and for obvious reasons we are too! 

If you’re not familiar with Key Ring, here’s the scoop:  Key Ring lets you scan the barcodes from your club cards (you know those pesky plastic cards you attach to your key chain?!), then recreates the barcode you’ve scanned using our special magical powers.  Once the barcode has been recreated all you have to do is select which retailer it is from a drop down menu and hit “submit”.  Key Ring then finds the retailer logo for your card (once again using our magical powers) and saves it to the Key Ring home screen.  Next time you’re at CVS, or wherever they accept club cards, just whip out your phone and let the retailer scan your membership number from the phone!  Cool huh?!  We think so :)
